Sayajirao Gaekwad III

Sayajirao Gaekwad III (11 March 1863 – 6 February 1939) was the Maharaja of Baroda State from 1875 to 1939, and is notably remembered for reforming much of his state during his rule. His rich library became the nucleus of today's Central Library of Baroda with a network of libraries in all the towns and villages in his state. He for the first time made an efforts for the development of libraries in India.
