Minnie Earl Sears

Minnie Earl Sears (17 November 1873 – 28 November 1933) formulated the "List of subject headings for small libraries, compiled from lists used in nine representative small libraries" (1923), a simplification of the Library of Congress Subject Headings. After her death in 1933 at age 60, the book was eventually renamed in her honor to "The Sears List of Subject Headings". The List is currently in its 21st edition.
